Our Approach
The first step in your care is to get accurate imaging. If you haven’t already gotten X-rays and/or an MRI, we will refer you out for those. We use an imaging clinic that’s just five minutes away.
Dr. Shahba will review the images and conduct a thorough examination to determine the extent of your injuries. The first step in your recovery is to relax the traumatized muscles. For the first week, we’ll use ice to decrease the inflammation. After that, we’ll use heat until the muscles are relaxed.
We’ll also use electrical muscle stimulation and other therapies such as myofascial release to help ease the tension in the muscles and soft tissues. After the first week, we will begin incorporating chiropractic adjustments into your care plan. We use a special table that helps us to release the tension in your back and neck.
Frequency of Care
Your care plan will be customized to your specific needs. We re-examine you after every tenth session to ensure you are making progress and to adjust the frequency of your care.
We will also refer you to any appropriate specialists along the way, including orthopedists, neurologists or physical therapists.
